Update: We're in the Situation Room

The day started quiet…too quiet. Then we remembered that we had handed off the kids to our good friends Ty and Melanie Odle last night so that we could arrive at Dupont Hospital bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7:30 a.m. Ruth and I packed things up in the car – including my laptop, digital camera, batteries, powercords, etc., etc., for today’s brave new delivery.

And “new” is the operative word here; we’re veterans with the baby birthing thing, and we’ve noticed that hospital rooms keep getting posher and posher. Ruth has her own room, with many modern conveniences, including the normal array of medical gizmos but also including a full couch for me to relax and/or fold out for a truly comfortable overnight. ~25” flat screen tv, lots of power outlets for geeks like me.

Epidural is going in, more updates later.
